On ending three-day celebrations on 27 May, 2023, the celebrants were admonished to remain innovative with sustainable teaching, research, and outreach in the drive to Vision 2035.
The three-day 30th-anniversary merriment from Thursday 25 May through Saturday 27 May 2023 at the University of Buea’s main Campus in Molyko Buea, recounted the milestone growth, achievements, and local and global impact since it went operational in 1993. Jam-packed by the institution’s alumni, staff and students, who participated in fanfare activities to celebrate its 30 years of existence assembled at the Dorothy Limunga Njeuma Amphitheatre for the three-day celebration. The occasion was marked by a series of events including the Alumni Conference, and the Vice Chancellor’s Cup that was held on Friday, May 26, 2023, with the Faculty of Social and Management Science lifting the trophy and defending their title as the largest ship on land.

Today, the institution has grown to eight faculties and three schools with over 13,000 students. These programmes are tailored to solving societal issues and provide innovative solutions to the growing needs of the populace. This is an illustration of the institution’s role in national and global sustainable development.” Professor Ngomo Horace Manga explained.
