Promoting Nautical Arts and Fishers : Board Members Renew Determination

This was during the 15th session of the board that took place in Douala on June 30, 2023.
Members of the Board of Directors of the Limbe Nautical Arts and Fisheries Institute (LINAFI) have renewed their determination to work towards the development of the institution and the promotion of nautical arts and fisheries in Cameroon. This was during the 15th session of the board, which took place in Douala on June 30, 2023.
The meeting, presided at by the board chair, Minister of Livestock Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr Taiga, saw the examination and evaluation of four accounts including the administrative, management, stores accountant accounts and the rate of execution of the 2022 budget. It came out of the board meeting that LINAFI was able to realise CFA 575 million out of the CFA 579 million budgeted for the 2022 fiscal year. Thus giving a realisation rate of 96.11 per cent. Out of the amount realised, LINAFI engaged CFA 489 million. The Director of LINAFI, Dr. Etah Collins Ayuk, emphasised that for 2023 they envisage extending aquaculture facilities in the institute and the building of about 13 concrete tanks. He reiterated that they were determined to work for the development of the institution and nautical arts and fishers in Cameroon.
