Cameroon-German Relations: Talks On Deepening Economic Cooperation

C ameroon and Germany have had discussions on broadening cooperation ties in the economic sector as well as other areas that can led to sustainable development. External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella granted an audience to the German Secretary of State for Economic Cooperation and Development, Jochen Flasbarth on July 10, 2023. He was accompanied to the audience by the German Ambassador to Cameroon, Dr. Corinna Fricke. The German Secretary of State who is visiting Cameroon for the first time is here to meet with authorities within the framework of deepening cooperation ties in the agriculture, culture, environmental and socio-economic development. Speaking to the press at the end of the audience, the German Ambassador said “I accompanied our Secretary of State for Economic Cooperation and Development who is visiting Cameroon for the first time and we discussed largely with the Minister on our bilateral cooperation and the general political situation in Cameroon as well as in the sub region.” Cameroon and Germany that share historical ties have in recent times embarked on a process to facilitate the repatriation of cultural artefacts formerly displayed in German museums back to the country.
