What appreciation do you make of Cameroon’s performance in the group phase?
We are here to play volleyball and I am very pleased with the performance of the Cameroonian team this far. The first game against Burundi was the opening ceremony; it was not a real match for us. The following game against Nigeria was a step forward. The match was not really tough for us as a team. The third game against Egypt was the unfortunate one. We did not really perform well as seen in the result. But we had to accept defeat and learn from it for better days ahead. It is life, sometimes you fall but the most important thing is how you come back. We are back and it is good for us.

In this group phase, Egypt and Algeria helped you come out of your shelves. What lessons have you learned from this two teams as you head into the next round?
Every day, we play games that the players are used to playing. There is really nothing particular. But the main points we drew from the game against Egypt laid on team spirit, preparation of the game and how to manage difficult situations. We looked into this and the results were felt in the game against Algeria which we won at the end.  The defeat against Egypt helped us greatly in the match against Algeria. The second set was difficult but we had the morale. We played as a team and when you play as a team, you have a small plus over your opponents and you easily surmount difficult situa...
