Educational Integrity in the West Region : CONAC Concludes Corruption Campaign

The institution organised a three-day sensitization campaign on corruption in schools in some divisions of the region.

Educational stakeholders in the secondary and basic sectors in the West Region have been reminded of the tremendous potentials they have in stopping corruption in the sector, so that it might not spill over to the younger generation. 
The reminder was severally pronounced by, Richard Fegue Ekani, team leaders of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, best known by its French acronym CONAC, who led a five-man team to the region for a special sensitization campaign dubbed “2023 Corruption free back to school”. The three-day special campaign that lasted from August 21-23, 2023, took the CONAC team to five of the seven Divisions of the West Region, precisely to Foumban, Bangangte, Baham, Bafoussam and Dschang, where they held discussions with educational stakeholders on how to collaborate in dispelling and preventing corruption in the education sector.
At the various stops in the Divisional headquarters, the CONAC team held discussion with Divisional Delegates of Secondary and Basic Education, sub divisional delegates of Secondary education and Inspectors of Basic education, Principals and some head teachers, on how to prevent corruption in the sector during the discharge of their duties. During these sensitization campaign meetings, the head of CONAC team, Richard Fegue Ekani, told the education chiefs that they have to carry out in-house staff sensitization on policies and procedures to fight and stop corruption in schools and colleges.
