Bafoussam: Photographers Urged To Join New Union

The appeal was made in Bafoussam on 19 August 2016 by the President of Photographers Union.

Tendongkeng Martin, the West Regional President of National Union of Independent Photographers in Cameroon, SYNACAM, has called on professional photographers practising in the region to join the newly formed union. Tendongkeng Martin was addressing journalists and photographers in the Conference Hall of the Regional Delegation for Communication on 19 August 2016 on World Photographers’ Day.

He frowned at the fact that only few members were registered since the regional chapter was formed early this year. This is in spite of the large number of photographers in the region, he noted. Members were urged to respect government policies regulating photography, adding that they were out to protect and define duties of photographers. Mekem Zamboue Proper, a professional photographer and cinematographer, presented a lecture on “Digital divide and digital bridge.”
