South West : Seven Health Centres Renovated, Equipped

The AIVDP authorities were on the field recently to ensure medical equipment they donated had reached the destinations in various health centres.

Over CFA 400 million has been invested to elevate health facilities in the South West Region of recent. Construction, renovation and equipment gave a facelift to seven health centres located in Bachuo Akagbe, Kembong, Ntale (Manyu DTheivision), Kang Barombi (Meme), Etam (Kupe Muanenguba), Lipenja (Ndian) and Besali (Lebialem). The improvement of the health facilities has been the handiwork of the Agricultural Infrastructure and Value Chain Development Programme (AIVDP) operating as a project under the South West Development Authority (SOWEDA). The Coordinator of AIVDP, Dr. Besong Ntui Ogork, has been on the field braving the seasonal odds and social strife to ensure the equipment reached their destinations. The structures worth over CFA 300 million francs and equipment costing over 100 million are part of AIVDP’s drive to improve the livelihoods of the rural populations of the Region. The different structures in these communities consist of 16 rooms hosting offices, maternity wards, male and female patients’ wards, VIP patients’ wards, mini theatres, restrooms, pharmacy, laboratory and other necessities.
Meanwhile, equipping those health structures has included work trolleys, removable trolleys, beds, drip stands, generators, refrigerators, stoves, forceps, ice packs, trash buckets, delivery beds, mattresses, tables, laboratory equipment, maternity beds, surgical beds and a host of other equipment to cater for the needs of the patients.
