2022-2023 Sports Season : Final Lap On Sunday

The final of the Cup of Cameroon will mark the end of the 2022/2023 sports season in Cameroon. At the end of the event, the deserving national sports federations, in this case the captains of the cup-winning clubs enjoy the unique privilege and honour of solemnly receiving their trophies from the hands of the highest authority of the State or his representative. It is also a moment of communion between the Head of State and the entire sports movement. 
In this light, the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, the Cameroon Football Federation and other sports federations are making last minute preparations not only on the football final but also the grand parade which usually precedes the end of sports season event. This year’s final will pit PWD of Bamenda against Fovu FC of Baham. Both Fovu and PWD are playing the final of the Cup of Cameroon for the fourth time.  Fovu has won the trophy twice (2001 and 2010) and PWD once in 2021. Ahead of the final, preparatory meetings have been going on at the level of the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education with the different sub committees in charge of the organisation of the event in order to ensure a successful event. The last preparatory meeting took place at the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education yesterday September 21, 2023. 
The meeting aimed at assessing the level of preparations in the different subcommittees to ensure that this year’s Cup of Cameroon final will be a memorable one.
