Douala : Teachers Advocate Better Working Conditions

This was during the 29th edition of the World Teachers’ Day in Douala yesterday, October 5.
It is no longer a surprise to hear that teachers are requesting for better pay and better working conditions. This year's celebration of the World Teachers’ Day is coming at a time when teachers in Cameroon are complaining.
During this year's celebration in Douala on October 5th, the configuration of Teacher's Syndicate used the opportunity to outline a series of grievances. The representative of the configuration of the Teachers Syndicate, Lemopi Raoul, prayed the President of the Republic to sign the decree of application to improve on the status of Teachers which has been pending for over 23 years.
He added that teachers are poorly paid and even lack the basics to carry out their functions. He pleaded with the government to get to genuine dialogue with teachers and solve their problems. Governor Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua of the Littoral Region was aware of the numerous problems faced by the teaching core reasons why he said the government has been doing its best to make the situation better.
