National Security : 2.821 Fresh Police Join Ranks

Cameroon’s Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele, was in the South West Region on 13 October, 2023, to oversee the cumulative graduation from training of 1,014 inspectors of Police and 1,807 Police Constables.

The Mutengene Police College has passed out 2,821 freshly trained Security personnel. Among them are 493 women. They are 1,014 Inspectors of Police including 275 women and 1.807 Police Constables counting 218 females. 
the ceremony to mark their end of training was chaired by the Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele, last 13 October, 2023 at the Police College esplanade in Mutengene (Tiko Sub-division) in Fako Division of the South West Region. On the occasion, Mbarga Nguele alerted the fresh policemen and women of their mission to face the mounting criminality such as urban disorder, cybercrimes, trans-border crimes, attempts to put the country under instability and the disruption of public order.
The Police boss reminded the young Security personnel of their overall assignment to protect persons, property and national institutions. He cautioned that it was incumbent on the Police to protect national unity, social peace, and human rights. For Mbarga Nguele, such an exigent but exalting mission of public service requires honour, devotion, fidelity, impartiality, persistent integrity and efficiency. He cautioned the men and women in uniform to shun all forms of discrimination based on ethnicity, language, religion, and political leaning.
The 2022 Police contingent of last Friday in Mutengene was part of the Head of State’s instructions in 2021 to recruit, over a span of five years, a total of 12,500 fresh Police officers with an intake of 2,500 each year. By the end of the exercise, the State shall have refreshed the national constabulary with new blood for the police muscle.
