Africa Women’s Basketball League : Overdose, Université Douala Qualify

The Cameroonian clubs picked the two available spots from the Zone 4 qualifiers which ended November 5, 2023 in Yaounde.
Two Cameroonian clubs will represent the nation at the 2023 Africa Women’s Basketball league billed to run from December 8-17, 2023 in Cairo, Egypt. They are Overdose Up Station and Université de Douala Basketball Clubs. The two teams picked their qualification from the Zone 4 qualifiers which ended November 5, 2023 at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex.
This followed the final standing of the qualifiers which saw all three teams finish with three points each but the Cameroon champions, Overdose Up Station finished top with 151 points scored and a +14 point-difference despite losing against CNSS 71-79 in the last game. It was a very difficult game for Overdose. The club started digging its own grave right from the first quarter when they allowed CNSS to dominate 26-9. CNSS continued with the lead in the second quarter to get into the halftime break with a 40-27 score. On return, Overdose did all in the last two quarters to repeat last year’s performance where they defeated CNSS by a point but the Congolese-side stood their grounds to carry the day 79-71.
