2023 Men’s CAF Awards : Shortlists Announced

The Confederation of African Football on November 17, 2023, made public the shortlists of Men’s Categories for the 2023 CAF Awards. Three Cameroonians are still very present in the race. Besiktas’ Vincent Aboubakar and Napoli’s André Frank Zambo Anguissa were retained in the top ten of the Player of the Year Award. The duo who have been performant both at club and country are facing stiff competition from other players on the continent like last year’s winner, Sadio Mane (Senegal, Al Nassr), Victor Osimhen (Nigeria, SSC Napoli), Mohamed Salah (Egypt, Liverpool), Ashraf Hakimi (Morocco, Paris Saint-Germain), Riyad Mahrez (Algeria, Al Ahli) just to mention but these.
As for the category of Goalkeeper of the Year, Cameroon’s André Onana made it to the top five.  He was shortlisted among Mohamed ElShenawy (Egypt, Al Ahly), Yassine Bounou (Morocco, Al Hilal), Ronwen Williams (South Africa, Mamelodi Sundowns) and Edouard Mendy (Senegal, Al Ahli).
