Unity Palace : Six New Diplomats Accredited

Cameroon has recorded six new representatives of friendly and partner countries and organisations with which the country entertains fruitful and mutually-beneficial cooperation. Ambassadors and High Commissioners-designate from Canada, Republic of Korea, United Kingdom, Algeria, European Union and the Vatican on Friday December 29, 2023 presented letters calling back their predecessors and sending them to Cameroon to President Paul Biya during a solemn and highly symbolic ceremony at the State House in Yaounde. 
H.E. Mme Lorraine Anderson; High Commissioner of Canada, H.E. Nam Ki-Wook; Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Barry Robert Lowen; High Commissioner of United Kingdom, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, H.E. Abdallah Boukemmache; Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, H.E. Jean-Marc Chataigner, European Union Ambassador and H.E. Mgr José Avelino Bettencourt, Apostolic Nuncio now have the blessings of the leader of Cameroon’s diplomacy, President Paul, to ably represent their respective countries and organisations here. To say the least, the six diplomats went to the Unity Palace as Ambassadors and High Commissioners-designate and the highly diplomatic exercise therefore elevated them to Ambassadors and High Commissioners Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary vested with full powers to ensure the security of their citizens living in Cameroon, to build and maintain strong diplomatic and economic ties with the country and administer all affairs of the embassy in Yaounde and elsewhere where they have consular services within the national territory.
The different diplomats arrived at the State House in quick succession, were ushered into the office of the Head of State and led to present their Letters of Credence to President Paul Biya in the order of arrival. The ball of arrivals and then the presentations was set rolling by H.E. Mme Lorraine Anderson, High Commissioner of Canada. She arrived at the State House at 2 pm, was received by the State Protocol, and inspected the guard of honour mounted for them with music from the Presidential Guard Band animating. The same exercise was repeated in that order by H.E. Nam Ki-Wook, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Barry Robert Lowen, High Commissioner of United Kingdom, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, H.E. Abdallah Boukemmache, Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, H.E. Jean-Marc Chataigner, European Union Ambassador and H.E. Mgr José Avelino...
