Buea : Promoted Soldiers Receive Epaulets

The laureates said moving to higher ranks is a call for more dedication in service.

 
The premises of the 21st Motorised Infantry Battalion in Buea on January 1, 2024, rose to cheers as family members ululated as their loved ones promoted to higher ranks were affixed epaulets on their shoulders. They were drawn from the National Gendarmerie, defence forces and elements of BIR. There were five captains, one sub lieutenant, four Chief Warrant Officers, three Warrant Officers, five sergeants and 115 Corporals among others. The event was chaired by the he Permanent Secretary at the South West Governor’s Office, Acha Gilbert, on behalf of the Governor. The various promotion orders signed on December 29, 2023, by the Minister Delegate at the President in Charge of Defense, Joseph Beti Assomo were read. 
Lieutenant Colonel Essengue Amougou Alain, Commander of the 21st Motorised Infantry Battalion, said the promotion comes after a long training and service to the nation.
