2025 AFCON Qualifiers : Four Nations Reach Group Stage

Chad, Eswatini, Liberia and South Sudan joined the exempted 44 nations in this stage of the competition after the preliminary round qualifiers which concluded on March 26, 2024.


Four nations defied the odds and booked their spots in the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Morocco 2025, after battling through the preliminary stage which ended on Tuesday March 26, 2024. They include; Chad, Eswatini, Liberia and South Sudan
At the Mbombela Stadium in South Africa, Eswatini held onto a 5-2 aggregate victory despite a spirited comeback attempt from Somalia. Eswatini held their ground, ultimately drawing the match 2-2. Ndzinisa Sabelo and Matsebula Bongwa scored for Eswatini early in the second half, but Awad Mohammed and Ahmed Yusuf pulled two goals back for Somalia late in the game.
