FENASSCO League “A” Games : Olympic Flame Arrives In Yaounde

The official ceremony to receive the burning torch of the 24th edition of the competition took place in Yaounde yesterday March 27, 2024.
It was a festive atmosphere at the esplanade of the Ministry of Secondary Education yesterday, March 27, 2024. The event was the official ceremony to receive the Olympic Flame of the 24th edition of the FENASSCO League “A” Games. Organised by the Ministry of Secondary Education, the event brought together secondary school children from schools in Yaounde, teachers and stakeholders. The event began with a tour of the Olympic Flame along some major streets in the city with a stop at the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education and culminated at the Ministry of Secondary Education. The Olympic Flame coming from Garoua-Gashiga in the North Region was ushered in with dance groups from the four cultural zones of Cameroon.
Speaking at the occasion, the Minister of Secondary Education, Prof. Nalova Lyonga thanked the Governor of the North Region for his commitment to secondary school sports. “We are trying to make the foundation of secondary school sports strong as an ally to their academic achievements. I think that the Governor sets a model in the various hangings about what happened in Garoua- Gashiga. We are hoping that the same will happen in Limbe,” she said. She said the MINESEC Cup is supposed to be an example as it is setting the pace for the young ones.
