MTN Elite One : YOSA Calling The Shots

The Bamenda-based club is leading the title race after day 3 matches of the play-offs up which ended on April 1, 2024 in Douala.


No one might have seen them coming but they are breaking all odds to push down renowned powerhouses. They are the boys from Yong Sport Academy of Bamenda (YOSA). They have shown fearlessness since the start of the Elite One Play-offs Up. After the third playing day which ended on April 1, 2024, the North West Regional outfit is toping the charts with nine points from winning all three matches this far. Their unbeaten run is further completed with the fact that they have the best attack in the competition with six goals scored. Five of these goals were scored by Tchindo John Bosco, who at the moment, is topping the list of the best goal scorers of the play-offs up. In the purely Anglophone derby that pitted YOSA and Victoria United, the boys from Bamenda put forth a show of tactical prowess and relentless pursuit to get the bragging rights. Fans from Bamenda and beyond are more than ever ready to encourage their beloved team to continue in a similar form.
Behind YOSA, are defending champions, Coton Sport of Garoua with seven points. The club realized this feat after beating Canon 2-0 on match day 3. If this victory greatly favours Coton, it stifles Canon, and puts their hope of becoming champions on the lifeline.
