Cameroon-China Cooperation : China Trains 3,500 Cameroonians In 53 Years

The Chinese Embassy in Cameroon on May 16, 2024 in Yaounde held a reception for Cameroonians who recently benefitted from Chinese training in various fields. Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Wang Yingwu stressed the importance of human resource training in the development of any nation. He disclosed that 400,000 people from 180 countries and nations in the world have over the years received such training in China.
Ambassador lauded the excellent cooperation and diplomatic relations between Cameroon and China. Disclosing that about 3,500 Cameroonians have so far benefitted from Chinese government training since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1971. He said in 2023 alone, more than 170 Cameroonians were trained in China in seminars and other courses.
