Buea : Unity In Diversity Showcased

A group of students dressed in the different attires of the four cultural zones in Cameroon marched with their hands held together indicating oneness.


South West Regional Governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai has saluted the population of Buea for standing up to national values as the march past concluded at Bongo Square Buea marking 52nd National Day celebration on May 20, 2024. He said the civilian march past had a huge mobilisation making them very proud. The Governor thanked the people of Buea and the entire South West Region for their resilience and patriotism. He noted that given what they have seen, life is gradually returning to normalcy and activities are booming.
The 52nd edition of the National Day opened with medal awards at Bongo Square at 10 am. In total, 71 people were distinguished for meritorious services rendered to the State. This was followed by a military march-past. The security offices in their different corps displayed their might before State authorities headed by Okalia Bilai. The National Gendarmerie and the Infantry demonstrated their strength in defending the territorial integrity of Cameroon while the Police demonstrated their abilities in protecting the population and their property. At hand were also warders, customs, BIR and Forest Guards....
