Zimbabwe : Warriors To Begin Preparations Soon

Shortly after the draw for the AFCON 2025 qualifiers, plans are already underway to set the team in motion.

Zimbabwe will play in Group J with Kenya, Cameroon and Namibia. They qualified for three consecutive AFCON tournaments in 2017, 2019 and 2021 but were disqualified from taking part in the 2023 edition after being slammed a FIFA suspension.  The Warriors have never gone beyond the group stage of the AFCON competition. During the AFCON qualifiers that will begin in September, the Warriors are full of determination to catch up with the time they have lost. 
The Warriors will play against Kenya, former champions, Cameroon and neighbours, Namibia, to secure a spot in the final phase of the AFCON tournament in Morocco. Zimbabwe will be playing in a group that is considered challenging given that one of their group opponents, Cameroon, are widely regarded as a football powerhouse on the African continent. Adding the difficulty of the Warriors’ group is the recent record of the Harambee Stars of Kenya who have managed to defeat the Warriors twice this year.
