Rewarding Outstanding Talents : Outstanding Media Practitioners to be honoured

The 2024 edition of the Victoria International Media Merit Award VIMMA will be held in Douala on 16 August. This year's event will be held under the theme "Digital Inclusion for Economic Empowerment". This was the outcome of a press briefing held by the organisers of the award in Douala on July 5. The press briefing revealed that this year's events have been well scrutinised with the reinforcement of the jury to examine the works submitted by the nominees. The VIMMA AWARD, which is organised by the Cameroon Association of Media Professionals CAMP, is designed to promote outstanding talent and encourage hard work.
The President of CAMP, Agborem Solomon, said they decided to organise the event in Douala in order to involve media practitioners in Douala in the whole process of the award. He said as an economic capital, they will open doors for more stakeholders to come on board. On her part, one of the members of the Media Awards Committee, Esther Qui, disclosed that the uniqueness of VIMMA lies in the emphasis placed on professionalism and respect for the ethics and deontology that govern the media professions in their respective fields. She emphasised that VIMMA winners are selected on the basis of merit.
