After 14 years of incessant attempts to grab power, the Labour Party is back. This time, the Party has not only won, but won big. During the country’s national election on July 4, 2024 the party outpaced the Conservative Party to regain command at N° 10. In their journey to the helm, the Labour Party made many promises. Two weeks after their victory, the million dollar question is, will they be able to keep these promises and also tackle the big issues that include; the cost of living, immigration, and rebuilding the country’s services like the health and transportation systems. It is not a secret that the Labour Party doesn’t really have a strong, bold new policy regarding the economy. From its ideological framework, it plans to renegotiate some of the agreements about agriculture and livestock in order to bring down food costs. 
From the look of things, all eyes are now on their promise to invest in industry and create a pro-business environment. They could do this by increasing the minimum wage of the workers and respect their pledge not to also raise taxes. With no increase in the basic, higher, or additional rates of income tax, it will be ridiculous to think of any increase. Their plans to cut waiting times in the National Health Service by adding 40,000 more appointments every week should be fully implemented as it will motivate incentivizing staff to carry out extra appointments out of hours, pooling resources across hospitals and making use of spare capacity in the private sector.
