Cameroon Association of Sports Journalists : René-Victoria Ekounga Is New president

The Cameroon Association of Sports Journalists has embarked on a new chapter. In effect, René-Victoria Ekounga has taken up the mantle of leadership at the association's helm. He was proclaimed the winner of the election in Yaounde on July 20, 2024. This was after the outgoing president and candidate, Missi Bikoun Bertille, stepped down during her campaign speech at the elective General Assembly.
It was an emotional and difficult moment for this lady, who has been at the helm of the provisional management commission of the association since 2021. Her decision, to many, clearly indicated that she had chosen the association's future over her own.  To some, her continuation at the top of the association, if elected, could have meant accepting to continue to stay in the crisis that has been plaguing the association for a while now.
Missi Bikoun Bertille’s stepping down, did not, however, come on a platter of gold. After the Ordinary General Assembly of the association, which saw the presentation of the administrative and financial records, a suggestion came up.
