2024 Paris Olympics : Team Cameroon Joins Games Village

The national flagbearers moved to the site on July 20, 2024 to continue preparations ahead of the competition.

The countdown to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games is drawing near and the effervescence is rising. On the spotlight now is the influx of athletes into the Games Village located on the banks of the River Seine in the north of the host city. The Olympic Village officially opened its doors to athletes on July 18, 2024 with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach welcoming some of the early arrivals. 
Team Cameroon joined the village two days later; that is on Saturday July 20, 2024 to get acquainted with their new home before beginning the task of defending the national colours of Cameroon when the competition effectively takes off on July 26, 2024. The facilities in the village and its conducive nature will no doubt be useful in improving the skills of the athletes hungry not only to fetch medals but also boost their experience on the global stage. The team, it should be said, is joining the Olympic Village, after 10 days of training in the city of Ermont, in the neighbourhood of Paris. At the time of this report, there were four out of the six flagbearers of team Cameroon in the Games village. Emmanuel Eseme and Linda Angounou will join the team on July 25, 2024. Eseme is reportedly still camping in Portugal while, Angounou is still in Rouen, France.
