Paralympic Games : What Ambitions For Cameroon?

Five athletes will represent Cameroon in three disciplines when the competition will kick off in Paris on August 28, 2024.

In barely one month the 2024 Paralympic Games will kick off in Paris, France. Ahead of this important event preparations have reached high gear in the country. The National Paralympic Committee is leaving no stone unturned in order to ensure adequate preparations for the athletes. In this light the last training camp for athletes was officially launched on Monday July 29, 2024 in Yaounde. 
Speaking at the occasion, the president of the National Paralympic Committee, Jean Jacques Ndoudoumou called on the athletes to work in unity and to give their best in order to save the image of the country. Jean Jacques Ndoudoumou said the objective is not only to qualify but to put up an honourable performance at the Paralympic Games. He also reminded the Cameroonian flagbearers to remember the moto of the Paralympic Committee which is “Work, Discipline and cohesion” as they go to Paris. 
Five athletes will represent Cameroon in three disciplines. These include Para Taekwondo, Para Athletics and Para powerlifting. The athletes in Para Taekwondo are Dassi Marie Antionette in the k44/-65kg and Chemogne Teukam Guileine -47kg category. The two athletes qualified for the Paralympic Games during a qualification tournament in Senegal in February. In para athletics they are Batafi Loumou Yves Noe in high jump and Mawe Fokoa Arlette in shot put. They qualified through their performances in international competitions.
