Africa Tchoukball championship : Senior National Teams In Kenya

The delegation left the country on Tuesday, August 6, to participate in the competition that kicks off today, August 8, 2024 in the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi.

The senior national men’s and women’s tchoukball teams are in Nairobi, Kenya, where they will participate in the seventh edition of the African Tchoukball Championship from August 8 to 12, 2024 at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi. The delegation left the country on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 via the Douala International Airport onboard an Ethiopian Airways flight.  Prior to their departure, the players had an intensive training session in the campus of Government High School in Nkolbisson, Yaounde. 
The head coach, Onguene Ngoumou Magloire and the players earmarked wining strategies in order to ensure an honourable performance in the competition. Onguene Ngoumou said 42 players took part in the training session in Nkolbisson. At the end of the training, only 24 players (12 men and 12 women) were selected to defend the country in Nairobi. He said the players are in good shape without any injuries. Onguene Ngoumou explained that the national team has professional players who play in Switzerland but they could not join the team. “We will make do with local players who play in different clubs in Cameroon but who have a satisfactory level,” he said. He said the objective is to bring back home the trophy both in the men’s and women’s categories. 
The continental competition will bring together 22 countries from across the continent. It will be an opportunity for athletes to showcase their talents in Tchoukball as teams fight for top honours in the sport that seeks to promote unity and sportsmanship.
