Next Academic Year : Preparation Afoot In Basic Education

A consultative meeting for the 2024/2025 school year began yesterday August 8, 2024 in Yaounde.

Stakeholders and staff of the central and decentralised services of the Ministry of Basic Education yesterday August 8, 2024 in Yaounde began a meeting to take stock of the 2023-2024 school year. The meeting also aimed at developing appropriate strategies to ensure a smooth resumption of classes for the 2024-2025 academic year, which is already on the horizon. Opening discussions was the Minister of Basic Education, Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa, who underscored that, it was an opportunity for his collaborators to capitalise on the strengths of the last academic year, learn from the weaknesses of the strategies put in place and implemented, as part of a means of achieving better objectives in the coming school year. Discussions which end today, are holding on the theme; "Responsible citizens at the service of a quality school in a healthy, safe and protective environment, for a transformation of our education system".
According to the Basic Education Minister, the last school year was satisfactory, thanks to combined efforts, which allowed the Education Sub-Sector to gradually advance in alternative modes of education, aligning itself with global contingencies based on the paradigm of the transformation of education. The Minister noted that results of official examinations organised by the ministry during the last academic year had an all-round successful rate.
