Kentsop Céline Orgelle Treatment : Government Takes Full Responsibility

The Douala General Hospital has ensured that the Presidential decision is fully respected.


Following the illness of the famous Cameroonian actress, Kentsop Céline Orgelle, also known as “MamiTon”, the President of the Republic, H.E. Paul Biya, took a decision on 14th August stating that her treatment will be fully sponsored by the Government of Cameroon. To this end, the Douala General Hospital has taken all the necessary measures to ensure that Kentsop Céline Orgelle receives the best treatment free of charge.
In effect, the Director General of the Douala General Hospital, Prof. Henry Namme Luma, told Cameroon Tribune on 16 August that Kentsop Céline Orgelle was brought to the hospital on the 10 of August through the emergency unit in a serious condition and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit where she is being treated. As in other emergency cases, he said they started treatment without any demand for payment until two days later when the family was asked to pay a caution. In the meantime, he added, he had been informed by the Minister of Public Health of the Presidential text to provide free treatment for “Mami Ton”, which took effect immediately and since 14 August, the family has not paid a cent as the government has taken full responsibility for all hospital bills.
