CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers : Lékie FF Begins Buoyantly

The Cameroonian flagbearer crushed Atletico Malabo 5-0 in their opening UNIFFAC zone game and hope to do same against Congo’s Diables Noirs today in Kinshasa.

The flagbearers of Cameroon in the ongoing UNIFFAC zonal qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League, Lékie FF started off the competition buoyantly in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The club crushed Atletico Malabo 5-0 on August 19, 2024 in their opening match of the competition. Three goals were scored in the first segment of the game while the remaining two were netted in the second half. The goals were scored by Ernestine Heutchou, Tiwa Lys, Adrienne Mekuko, Raissa Nnanga, and Yvana Yakana. 
It is worth mentioning that Lékie becomes the first Cameroonian club to score this number of goals in one match of the UNIFFAC qualifiers of the CAF Women’s Champions League. This victory puts the Cameroonian club on the second position on the standings behind hosts TP Mazembe of DRC with a superior goal difference of +2. The Congolese club crushed CSM Diables Noirs 7-0 in the opening match of the tournament.
Lékie’s emphatic win puts the club on a promising position as they face Congo’s CSM Diables Noirs today, August 21, 2024 at the Stade des Martyrs.
