After France Visit : Presidential Couple Back Home

Cameroon’s Head of State, Paul Biya, and wife, Chantal Biya are back in the country after actively participating in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and the 80th anniversary of Allied Landings in Provence in Boulouris-Saint-Raphael, south-east France. The Presidential couple got back to the nation’s capital, Yaounde, Friday August 23, 2024 and were welcomed at the foot of the plan at the Nsimalen International Airport by the Prime Minister Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute and the Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh. Supporters of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) from Mefou and Afamba Division of the Centre Region, likewise dance groups, were also around to cheer the Presidential couple. 
The Head of State’s return ends a fruitful visit to France during which President Paul Biya further deepened the age-old bilateral ties Cameroon shares with the French Republic. On the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron of France and the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, President Paul Biya, accompanied by wife Chantal Biya, actively took part in the opening ceremony of the 33rd Olympic Games in Paris on July 26.
In Paris for the Games, President Paul Biya held a tête-à-tête with his French counterpart at Élysée Palace, took part in a luncheon offered world leaders there before heading to Trocadéro for the official opening ceremony of the Games on Friday July 26, 2024. President Paul Biya also held discussions with Nicolas Sarkozy and it emerged from the conclave that the former French President, now business lawyer, will lead a business delegation to scan investment opportunities in Cameroon any time soon.
