ANAFOOT’s Regional Poles Tournament : Far North Region Lifts Trophy

The final of the fifth edition of the tournament took place on Saturday August 24, 2024 at the Presidential Guard Stadium in Yaounde on Saturday August 24, 2025.

It was a special day at the Sports Complex of the Presidential Guard in Obili, Yaounde, on Saturday August 24, 2025. The event was the final of the fifth edition of the ANAFOOT’s Regional Poles Tournament. Organised by the Cameroon Football Academy (ANAFOOT) the competition brought together 160 of the Academy’s best young male players in the U17 category. For one week Yaounde inhabitants had an opportunity to watch young players dis rich talents in football. It was equally an opportunity to detect young talents. 
The final match pitted the Littoral Region against the Far North Region. The kick off was given by the Divisional Officer for Yaounde VI Subdivision, Alain Etoundi. The Littoral began well and opened scores immediately after take-off through Lobe Ebanda Georges. That served as a booster for both teams as each side was out to grab the trophy. The Far North put up a strong fight and dominated the game. Both teams separated at halftime on a 0-0 score margin. On resumption, the Far North Region came up stronger putting much pressure on their opponents. They however faced stiff resistance from the Littoral Region. The opportunity came for the Far North Region and Ousmane Saminou equalised at extra time. The Far North carried the day beating the littoral Region 5-3 through penalty kicks after regular time ended 1-1. All efforts by the Littoral Region to increase scores were futile. 
Trophies were awarded to players who distinguished themselves in the competition. The trophy for the best player of the tournament went to Moussa Arafat from the North Region. The trophy for the best scorer went to Lobe Ebanda Georges from the...
