FOCAC 2024 : Celebrating Fruitful Ties

The Head of State and his entourage in China were Thursday even treated to dinner at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
A solemn moment to mark the sojourn of President Paul Biya and wife, Chantal Biya in China for the FOCAC was last evening Thursday 5 September, 2024. It was a working dinner offered by the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, Zhao Leji at the Guangdong wing of the ornate Great Hall of the People.
Slated for 6:00 p.m. the Head of State arrived at the venue five minutes before schedule. That permitted both leaders to proceed with a picture session after which the Head of State invited the First Lady to join them to immortalise the event in pictures before they walked in for diner accompanied by their official delegations. In a word of welcome to the President and his entourage, Mr Zhao appreciated Mr Biya’s readiness to always honour every invitation that the Chinese authorities have extended to him, saying it was an indication of fidelity in their friendship. Mr Zhao Leji expressed joy at the convergence of views between President Paul Biya and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping as demonstrated during the bilateral talks which they had a day earlier. He said getting Cameroon into the Global Strategic Partnership that President Xi has envisaged for China and Africa remains a great privilege to China.
On his part, President Biya thanked the Chinese authorities for the warm and friendly hospitality towards him, his wife and the entire delegation to China. President Paul Biya urged Mr Zhao to once more transmit to the Chinese leader Cameroon's gratitude for the 10-point agenda which President Xi presented as the next pillars for ChinaAfrica ...
