UNIFFAC U20 : Cameroon Sails Through To Semis

The U20 Lions of Cameroon have qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing UNIFFAC tournament in Brazzaville, Congo. The Lions beat the Panthers of Gabon 3-1 during the last group games that took place at the Alphonse Massamba Débat Stadium on Saturday, September 28, 2024. From the result, Cameroon once more confirmed their supremacy in Group B. Cameroon’s goals were scored by Adrien Mfoumou, Angel Yondjo and Harouna Djibrin. Against Gabon on Saturday, Angel Yondjo shone and he won the trophy for the Man of the Match. The star striker of the Junior national team and Elite of the Brasseries du Cameroun Football Club was effective, providing two assists, provoking a sending-off and scoring a goal. On the first day, the striker, who is being watched by LOSC and Stade Rennais F.C., provided an assist and created the first goal.
The Junior Lions finished top of their group with six points, two wins scoring seven goals and conceding just one. The Central African Republic are second with three points while Gabon trails the table with zero point. During their first outing Cameroon beat the Central African Republic 4-0. The coach of the Junior Lions, Yvan Kenmoe said the players were conscious of the fact that Gabon was out for a win because they needed a victory. “The players understood that and what was needed was to observe them and play on our rhythm.
