Ambiance : Supporters Steal Show

The Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium was full above capacity with determined fans who came in their numbers to cheer their respective teams.

The scorching sun was a very minor challenge for fans who thronged the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium yesterday to support their beloved teams. The over 40,000 capacity stadium was filed to its brim. Some diehard supporters had to even stand to live the encounter pitting Colombe of Dja and Lobo against Aigle Royal of Menoua. Several buses of supporters had left the different divisions of the South Region. There was a similar mobilisation from the West Region. Indeed, they lived up to expectations as they produced an electrifying atmosphere. This was brought to life by the sounds of vuvuzelas, drums, whistles, dance and loud voices that echoed in every corner of the stadium. Most of the supporters were identified with the colours of their outfits. Those of Colombe were dressed in purple and white while those of Aigle were dressed in black and yellow.  The Prime Minister’s entrance, the entrance of both teams, the traditional salute of supporters by the players, the kicker of the match, the high moments of the game itself, were just some of those instances that got the whole stadium shaking with all kinds noise.
