Sambo : Plans To Render Competition Dynamic

The President of the African Sambo Confederation, Dalil Skalli, said after a courtesy visit to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
The Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouele Kombi granted audience to the President of the African Sambo Confederation, Dalil Skalli in his cabinet on Saturday, September 28, 2024. The visit was within the framework of the first edition of the ECCAS (Economic Community of Central African States) International Sambo Open tournament that took place at the Mfandena Gymnasium in Yaounde from September 27 to 29, 2024.
Speaking at the audience Dalil Skalli said Cameroon and Morocco are brother countries and that it is a pleasure for him to be in Cameroon especially for sambo. He thanked the Minister of Sports and Physical Education for the support he is giving to sports and sambo in particular. He said in Africa sambo Africa does not have many competitions. “In sports there is preparation, competition and recuperation. In Africa we have just one competition which is the African championship. With the president of Cameroon Sambo federation, François Mbassi we have made a plan to create competitions so that athletes in Africa can have tournaments to prepare for the World Cup and also the African championship,” he said.
Dalil Skalli said he was in Cameroon for the ECCAS championship and he hopes that it will be of great help for Cameroon sambo. He said another tournament will be orgainsed in Morocco this year so that Africans can train and prepare well ahead of major competitions.
