Focusing On Essential Issues!

President Paul Biya is a human being like all others and will obviously go home when his creator deems necessary. Ranting the air with news of his supposed “death” when, “The Head State continues to exercise his duties in Geneva and has never departed the city following his visit to Beijing,” going by a press release from the Civil Cabinet, is nothing short of spiteful manipulation of national and international opinion. In fact, a Government’s press release qualifies such moves as, “Manoeuvres of disinformation, manipulation and destabilisation orchestrated by small groups and pernicious individuals, for their own hidden ends.”
If not, how can one explain the fact that someone’s death is announced without any iota of evidence! What was the raison d’être of such an announcement that widely circulated on conventional and social media? The Head of State is no doubt a public figure who attracts attention but telling the world that he is dead when he is alive is clearly ill-intentioned and disdainful. Pure prophets of doom who certainly see or wish nothing good for the country.  
Important issues exist in the country and should preoccupy every peace-loving citizen. Those who may be eager to ascend the mantle of power should be informed; more than anyone else, that election for the post of President will hold next year. The conditions for eligibility are clearly defined in the electoral code and anyone who aspires to run or a group that desires to place a candidate to vie for the country’s top job should logically be laying a solid groundwork for that. This starts with preparing the candidacy files and making the terrain conducive to have as many potential voters as possible endorse them when the moment comes. Democracy that Cameroon long embraced and has been striving for its perfection gives room for the power of the ballot box to prevail not the jungle-like life where they kill to live.

This explains why the Government’s press release debunking the malicious rumours underlines that, “The Government wishes to make it  known that the day after the China-Africa Summit, in which he took an active part, the Head of State granted hims...
