CHAN 2024 Qualifiers : Cameroon To Face Central African Republic

The build-up to the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) to be staged next year in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania is gathering steam. The draw ceremony for the qualifiers took place yesterday October 9, 2024 in Cairo, Egypt. A total of 40 nations were engaged in the draw to determine the matchups that will produce the final teams to qualify for the eighth edition of the tournament.
In the UNIFFAC zonal draw, six countries were engaged. They were divided into two pots. Cameroon found itself in Pot 1 of higher ranked teams alongside Congo and Democratic Republic of Congo. Meanwhile, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic and Chad were in Pot 2 of lower ranked teams. The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon were picked to play their qualifying game against Central African Republic. The first leg is billed to be played between 20-22 December while the second leg will be played between 27-29 December. The qualifiers of the UNIFFAC zone will be played in only one round which means that the winners on aggregate will directly qualify for the final phase of the competition.
