Fight Against HIV/AIDS : New Phase of Project Launched In Bamenda

The Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHB) has again won the confidence of partners as a result of the successes recorded in the fight against HIV in Cameroon. Highlighting the journey covered so far by the CBCHB, the Principal Investigator of the HIV-Free Project Prof. Tih Pius Muffih during the occasion of the closeout of the 2019-2024 HIV Free Project in Zone I, on October 9, 2024 in Bamenda, saluted all the stakeholders for their contributions in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Cameroon. 
During the dual ceremony at the Bamenda Pastoral Centre, Prof. Tih Pius said it was an opportunity for them to reflect on the progress and to celebrate their achievements as they pave the way for anticipated epidemic control by 2030. After a review of the journey covered so far, he said it is the dedication of all stakeholders and successes registered by the CBCHB that they were awarded the   fourth project cycle, starting from October 2024 to September 2029. "The awards are fruits of diligent efforts, financial stewardship, and the ability to meet donor requirements” said Professor Tih Pius.
The new phase of the project is aimed at strengthening the health system, particularly at the district level, leveraging a district- health approach. It was officially launched in Bamenda by the Regional Delegate of Public Health, Dr Che Soh Kingsly in the presence of other stakeholders.
The fourth project cycle with the support of the US Emergency Aids Relief Plan (PEPFAR) will go a long way to bring the CBCHB and stakeholders closer to realising an HIV - free generation, particularly in zone I which is nearing epidemi...
