China-Cameroon : Relations Toast For Better Partnership

This was during a dinner organised by the Chinese “Peace Ark” humanitarian mission on Thursday 10 October, 2024.

The Chinese “Peace Ark” hospital ship anchored at the Douala seaport has also come to promote relations between Cameroon and China. This was evident during a dinner organised on the ship last Thursday, October 10, which showcased the rich Chinese culture. The dinner was a moment for both countries to strengthen ties and explore new avenues for greater partnership. The ceremony was also an opportunity to highlight military-health cooperation, a new starting point for Sino-Cameroonian cooperation.
As such, this cooperation is part of the continued strengthening of relations between China and Cameroon. At the dinner, the Chinese Navy thrilled the audience with beautiful dance moves and the famous kung-fu display, all to showcase their cultural prowess. It was the Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency Wang Yingwu, who explained that the visit of the hospital ship of the Chinese Navy to Cameroon to help provide health care to the Cameroonian public for a period of one week was the beginning of new partnership relations in the field of health care. For him, the ship had come to give a new twist to the relationship between the two countries. He thanked the government of Cameroon for accepting to host the ship. He also appreciated the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, and the President of the Republic of Cameroon, Paul Biya, for giving both countries the opportunity to partner in various areas.
