2025 AFCON : Eight Countries Already Qualified

Adding to host Morocco, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Algeria, Senegal, DR Congo, Angola and Egypt picked their tickets after day-four qualifier matches that ended on October 15, 2024.

The face of the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Morocco next year, is taking shape. Eight teams are already sure of participating in the prestigious competition.  Adding to host Morocco, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Algeria, Senegal, DR Congo, Angola and Egypt, have also qualified for the final phase of the continental showpiece. This was after fruitful results in their day-four qualifier matches which ended on October 15, 2024 in stadiums across the continent. 
In Group L, the stakes are over. Burkina Faso and Senegal have picked the two available tickets in the group with 10 points each. Senegal left it late to secure a 1-0 victory over Malawi, courtesy of a stoppage-time free-kick from Sadio Mané. Burkina Faso was the first team to pick qualification on the turf, after host Morocco. The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in Group J also picked an early qualification after their 1-0 victory over Kenya on match day-four, topping the group with 10 points. In Group H, the Democratic Republic of Congo has already secured its place in Morocco with 12 points. They defeated Tanzania 2-0 to seal their qualification. Angola, who have now made it four straight wins comfortably lead Group F and are on their way to Morocco. Algeria secured their place in the upcoming AFCON with a narrow 1-0 win over Togo on Monday night, ensuring their fourth consecutive victory in Group E of the qualifiers. The result puts the Desert Foxes on 12 points with two games to spare, confirming their qualification for the tournament in Morocco.
