The courtyard of the Police Training and Application Centre in Mutengne, South West Region was in festive mood on Friday October 25, as some 2,444 new Police functionaries (695 Cadet Inspectors of Police and 1, 749 Cadet Police Constables) were awarded diplomas and epaulettes marking the end of their training.  The 2022 batch of Cadet Police Inspectors and the 2023 batch of Cadet Police Constables have now fully integrated the National Security corps with the principal mission of maintaining peace and order, security of persons and their property, administrative and judicial police missions, amongst others. 
Dr. Commissioner Nith Pierre, Commander of CIAP Mutengene while presenting the trainees, assured the Delegate General for National Security of the quality of training received by the graduates, stating that they are apt for the field operations. He outlined the courses treated during the training and disciplinary measures that were implemented to sanction recalcitrant trainees. 
Addressing the new contingent, the Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele urged them to diligently apply the theoretical and practical skills acquired during their training within the context of rising criminality marked by terrorist attacks on the population and security forces. The Police boss equally reminded the new police functionaries of the emergent environment with new forms of criminality notably cyber criminality and all forms of online fraud and consumption of hard drugs which they must combat as the frontline operational actors of the national security. 
Thus, by receiving the attributes of grade, the Delegate General stressed, the new men and women in uniform are expected to fully assume the responsibilities that go with their grades and statut. They are therefore obliged to serve the institutions of the Republic and protect the population with honour, loyalty, efficiency, diligence, integrity and impartiality.
