2024 Dixiades : Preparations Hot Up

In less than one month, the eighth edition of the national games of Cameroon (Dixiades) will kick off in the capital city, Yaounde. Ahead of the competition, preparations have reached high gear in the country. From 11 to 21 December, young athletes from the 10 regions of Cameroon will meet in Yaounde for ten days of intense and exciting competition.
The draw for collective sports disciplines took place at the headquarters of the National Olympic and Sport Committee (CNOSC) in Yaounde on Thursday, October 31, 2024. The exercise aimed at defining the groups for the men’s and women’s teams in the different collective sports disciplines include; volleyball, handball, basketball and football. Each discipline is divided into two groups of five teams each. Teams in the different regions of the country are preparing for the upcoming games. The population of Yaounde is expected to come out in their numbers and encourage the young athletes. 
The National Games of Cameroon (Dixiades) were created following a resolution of the General Assembly of the CNOSC that held on May 3, 1996 in Kribi in the South Region.
