U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers : Lionesses Return To Camp

Some 29 players are fine-tuning their skills at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo near Yaounde.

The 9th edition of the U-17 Women’s World Cup will take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 8, 2025. Ahead of the competition, some 29 players are fine-tuning their skills at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo. The second training camp will begin today Monday November 18, 2024. The players will be training under the supervision of the head coach, Joseph Ndoko. The first training camp rounded off on Thursday November 14, 2024 with two friendly matches against Awa FC of Yaounde in playground of the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo. 
During the first match, first match Awa FC beat the U-17 Lions 1-0 and during the second encounter, the U-17 Lionesses played a 2-2 draw with Awa FC, giving an aggregate score of 3-2 in favour of Awa Fc. One of the players of the U-17 Lionesses,  Cyrielle Ngono Ndi, who plays for AS Fortuna, was rushed to the hospital by after sustaining injury on the head from an air duel. Reports say the condition of the player is stable. Sources close to the U-1 Lionesses’ team say Joseph Brian Ndoko has chosen to play friendly matches against women's football clubs in order to prepare his girls.
