Women’s Super Cup : Lekié FF Are Winners

They defeated current league champions, FC Ebolowa 2-1 in the inaugural match on Friday, November 16, 2024 at the Yaounde Military Stadium.

It was a festive atmosphere at the Yaounde Military Stadium on Friday, November 15, 2024. The event was the first edition of the Women’s Super Cup in Cameroon. The match pitted current champions of Cameroon FC Ebolowa against Cameroon Cup winners, Lekié FF. Thousands of supporters from Yaounde and elsewhere thronged the Military Stadium to encourage their players. The women’s Super Cup produced the best team in the women’s championship for the 2023-2024 season. It equally marked the kick off of the women’s championship for the 2024-2024 season. 
Lekié began the game well with a good play style that paid off as and were able to open scores at the fifth minute through Lys Fraîche Tiwa Melong. The goal served as booster for the teams as each side was determined to win the first trophy. FC Ebolowa put up a strong fight but squandered their chances. At half time the score line was 1-0 in favour of Lekié FF. On resumption Lekié came up stronger and Tiwa Melong increased scores for her team three minutes into the second half. FC Ebolowa reduced scores when substitute player, Elaine Aimee Bibout, scored their lone goal but they failed to keep the pressure on Lekie. All efforts by FC Ebolowa to equalize were futile. Lekié FF carried the day beating FC Ebolowa 2-1.
