Diplomacy : Japanese Ambassador Hands Credentials

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella received the accreditation documents of Minami Kentaro yesterday December 5, 2024.

The newly designated Ambassador of Japan to Cameroon, Minami Kentaro has presented the advance copies of his lettres of credence to the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella. This was during an audience on December 5, 2024, which also witnessed the participation of the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu. 
Professional information about the Japanese Ambassador who was born in December 1964 indicate that he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in April 1989 and has since then occupied several positions in the diplomatic milieu. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador, Minami Kentaro was Director at the International Nuclear Cooperation Division, Non-proliferation and Science Department, Foreign Policy Bureau of Japan.  Between July 2019 and January 2021, he was respectively First Secretary and Counsellor at the Embassy of Japan in Congo. For about four months (April-July 2019), the now head of Japanese mission in Cameroon served as Senior Protocol Coordinator, Protocol Office, Foreign Minister’s Cabinet, and Director, Foreign Visit Division, Protocol Office of the Minister’s Secretariat.
