Departures From Yaounde : Leaders Leave With Positive Memories

Farewell honours at the Nsimalen International Airport were befitting of the rank of the CEMAC Statesmen.

At the close of deliberations of the extraordinary session of the Conference of Heads of State of CEMAC, the sub-regional leaders left Cameroon with positive memories. First to arrive the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport for departure was the President of Equatorial Guinea, accompanied by the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute. The personalities moved straight to the foot of the aircraft. The red carpet was rolled out and adorned with flowers, in honour of the august guest. On each side of the red carpet were guards of honour, dressed in their official attire and held swords up- wards in respect to the President who walked passed them. Presi- dent Obiang Nguema Mbasogo took time to shake hands with the diaspora community of Equatorial Guinea in Cameroon, who showed up at the airport to cheer their leader. At the foot of the Presidential jet, Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute handed a picture album to the Equato-Guinean Pre- sident, which captured all his ac- tivities in Cameroon during the Conference. His gratitude was evident. "Thank you so much for the hospitality," are some of the words of the President of Equatorial Guinea before climbing the steps of the plane.

Second to leave Cameroon after the Conference was the President of Gabon Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. He arrived the airport accompanied by the Minister of Communication, René Emmanuel Sadi. Again, he was welcomed by Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute.
