Peace, stability and progress of nations in this 21st century face a variety of man-made and natural calamities. Hence, leaders and the led must be aware of challenges, and alert their compatriots.
“President Biya’s end-of-year message to the nation was in effect a critical appraisal of our stewardship, efforts made at various levels, and challenges we face in the onerous tasks to forge ahead.
“To achieve our set development goals we must improve governance across all sectors of activity,” He warned.
All sectors of activity remind us of our professional obligations and commitment to the attainment of national objectives. We are involved in bringing up youths in classrooms to become future leaders, agronomists contribute to agricultural output, contractors see about road construction, and administrators take care of affairs of the state. He made it clear also that a poor state of vehicles on the high way and the competence of the drivers trigger misharps.
As concerns natural calamities such as climate change, landslides and floods, it is regrettable that despite the advice and warning from authorities about prudent choice of where, and how to construct houses for occupation by human beings, many citizens still do not take this seriously. People build in marshy areas prohibited for residential construction an...
