“Learners Should Design Personalised Study Schedules”

The second term of the academic year begins today. What makes the term decisive? 
The second term which begins today, Monday January 6, 2025 is the continuation of the 2024/2025 academic year that began on September 9, 2024 in the entire Republic of Cameroon. This term is relatively short, overloaded with recognised official days but also very decisive in the school calendar. This term that runs from January 6 to March 7, 2025 is characterised by the following official day: The National Week of Bilingualism (3-7 February), Youth Week (5-11 February), the International Mother Tongue Language Day (21st February). Teachers and pupils have to grapple with pedagogic activities of about 381 hours devoted for effective teaching and learning, integration of competences, the assessment of skills and projects and the planning of remediation activities where necessary.
In what frame of mind should students approach this second term of the school year? Learners should know that they are left with less time because of the so many extracurricular activities for the term. To this effect, they have to regularly attend classes, participate in group activities, carry out class or school projects, do their home works and design personalised study schedules. Learners should bear in mind that their achievement in school invariably depends on their learning concentration. This implies that the higher the learning, the higher the achievement and vice versa.


What about the teaching staff? How should they go about making sure this second term runs smoothly with effective coverage of their curriculum?
As for the teaching personnel, they are called upon to diligently prepare and present their daily lessons, while laying emphasis on the participatory transmission of knowledge and the integration of skills and attitudes.
