Justice Wanki Richard Tsenikontsa : Iconic Common Law Champion Bows Out

The legal mind is said to have died on January 2, 2025 at the Yaounde University Teaching Hospital.

The President of the Common Law Bench of the Supreme Court of Cameroon, Justice Wanki Richard Tsenikontsa is no more. Family sources recount that the legal mind journeyed beyond at 10:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025 at the Yaounde University Teaching Hospital after an illness. 
Late Justice Wanki Richard, who hails from Mankon, Mezam Division of the North West Region is a product of the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM). 
In his legal career, he is will be remembered mainly for two things; being a champion of the Common Law practice in Cameroon and as one of the lead Magistrates of the government bench during the famous albatross affair. Following the grievances presented by Lawyers and teachers of the North West and South West Regions, and within the framework of finding lasting solutions, the Common Law Bench of the Supreme Court was created and he was appointed President in 2019. He occupied the position till the cold hands of death snatched him.
