48th Episcopal Conference : Bishops Implore Active Participation In Nation Building

The call was made in Buea yesterday, January 7, 2025 at the official opening of the annual seminar of the Bishops of Cameroon.

The President of the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon who doubles as Archbishop of Bamenda, His Grace Andrew Nkea, has made an appeal to all Cameroonians to make every effort to bring their personal contributions towards the growth and progress of the nation, rather than passively sitting back and pointing fingers at others. He was speaking yesterday January 7, 2025 in Buea, South West Region during the official opening of the annual seminar of the Bishops in Cameroon
His Grace Andrew Nkea reiterated in his message that, the task of nation building is the collective responsibility of all citizens, regardless of their social status, rank or position. He maintained that, even though efforts are being made by government to see an end to corruption and other social ills, it is incumbent for all Cameroonians to be aware that it is their right to contribute to nation building. “Corruption, conflicts like those that plague the North West, South West and Far North Regions, through our prayers, we shall see the end to these crises. There is a need for every Cameroonian to take his or her own responsibility for the construction of our country, our biggest sin and weakness is pointing fingers at others. No matter how little our contribution may seem to be, it will contribute to the growth of the society,” His Grace Andrew Nkea stated.
